Sharon Van Etten - Remind Me Tomorrow
indietronica, synthpop
2019
I listened Sharon Van Etten's old works million times. Epic which she released in 2010 is the my all time favourite album, after this brilliant album she released her most emotional and hurtful album Tramp, with this album she blowed my heart and my mind. Finally, she became to be not underrated with her Are We There and this albums proved that she has constantly becoming a legend.
After 4 years, when Comeback Kid published as a reminder of new album and I was a little bit disappointed because it didn't make me feel real SVE. However, Very first listening Jupiter 4 made me cry and it influenced me to believe Remind Me Tomorrow is gonna be a great album.
I Told You Everything is a good starter and it is emotionally strong song. In my opinion, this song symbolizes her transition from mostly singer/songwriter to synthpop and indietronica. No One's Easy to Love is a great song, drum rhythms, bass sounds and synth sounds melted together and created a great harmony. Memorial Day is the purest song in this album, it is emotional and her vocals make me feel the same things what she felt. Actually, I am not a big fan of Seventeen, it is an ok song, not much strong lyrically but very catchy. With Malibu, peak points of the album starts to be seem. Malibu is a great song as much as its story and this song reminds me her previous soft sounds which I love most. You Shadow is an another highlight of the album, very catchy, very good synth sounds and vocals. Hands is my favourite song of this album, it is so much powerful with her vocals and lyrics, combination of structures of art pop and dream pop with synths made me fell in love with her. Stay is a great closer song as she always did in her all albums.
