Rose Elinor Dougall - A New Illusion indie pop, chamber pop 2019

After listening Dougall's second album "Stellular", she has taken my attention to her works because it was a good record to listen. In "Stellular", electronic touches can be seen easily, however, in A New Illusion, she used more calm and laid back sounds.

With this album, her musical growth amazed me because she consistently developed her abilities and it influenced her music in a great way. Using of chamber pop sounds, shoegaze-ish and neo psychedelic touches made this album more than an indie pop album. However, this does not mean that she totally changed her music, familiar sounds are used too but in a more structural way. The production is impressive and the structure of lyrics is strong and creative. After so many times listening this album, i still do not skip any song because of harmonization.

I think this album and Rose Elinor Dougall are underrated af, I am excited to listen her next singles and albums.
