Kedr Livanskiy - Your Need outsider house 2019

Until recently, the girl had a couple of mini-albums and debut longplay Ariadna which was an amazing album and one of the most interesting Russian releases of recent years. In general, Kedr is a typical product of its time, a kind of Russian Grimes, overlaid by analog synthesizers and drawing inspiration from the past, which is known only by hearsay. Compared to previous releases of Kedr, her new album may seem more precise and strict recording, but, of course, only in comparison with her other works. If the disc begins with its typical foggy “ Your Need” and “Sky Kisses”, then everything becomes much more interesting. “Why Love” can remind a domestic new wave from the rotation of retro radio, and one of the strongest tracks on the album is “ Lugovoy” is quite slow. The album concludes with more traditional and melodic tracks. This concerns, first of all, the main hit of the album “ Ivan Kupala”. A track that draws attention to itself with a powerful jungle beat and it effects very well. Even though I still prefer Ariadna, this is another good work of her. I was shocked when I saw negative comments about this album and I do not understand why.

8.75/10
