Designer is the third studio album of Aldous Harding who is the most underrated singer in this world. Her previous albums were incredible, especially Party was out of this world, it can be one of the favourite albums of all time. I wanted to wait to write a review about Designer because I needed to understand and feel everything about it. Designer is an exceptional album that explores the process of making and being made. Harding doesn't feel responsible for producing songs with digestible meanings; instead, she composes music that captures the wonder of creating. In relinquishing the tie between the maker and the object, Harding presents her own liberation from spiritual oppression. She exists outside of some holy agent. Her power is not contingent on someone else; she is her own Designer. This is a beautifully arranged, constantly pleasant and immaculate release by Harding. Each track comes with purpose, and the vocal delivery is constantly above par and engaging. I've listened to The Barrel all week before this album is released, and the rest of the album has done nothing but impress me. I can't wait to keep digging more into this album and re-experience this throughout the rest of the year. The vocal tones are perfect. She is more vocally restrained in her range than on Party, but the deep and high moments all work perfectly. No wasted notes, not vocally or musically. No wasted breaths. The Barrel is the perfect centerpiece and Fixture Picture is like black hole, i could not stop looping this masterpiece. Absolutely, this album is AMAZING, she did that again. One of the best albums of the year, and may be the best one.
